in the newspaper "der standard" christa gürtler wrote the beautiful sentence: "inspiring for the praxis of writing is, for cotten, the 'dozing gaze' of a combo that plays kurt-weill-songs while one is still in bed...". if this image is correct, one can be curious if cottens favourite record also invites dozing or yet may quite shake us up. cottens guest performance on the new album of berlin electronic band "tarwater" in any case testifies "knowability" and "taste".
