MARC MATTER aka VOICEOVER

lecture-performance

"record-playful sound poetry"

marc matter (*1974 in basel), media artist, musician and freelance curator, member of the experimental art and music collective institut fuer feinmotorik (*1997), lecturer for music and text at the institute for music and media in düsseldorf.
he produces sound poetry and texts from voice recordings and speech fragments which are manipulated by a record player and mixer. by doing so, he is searching for new speech effects and semantic collisions, which can emerge when creating poetry. in 2013, he conducted research on the sound poet and editor >henri chopin and his publishing house OU. in 2014, he made the sound piece "creation darkness" (wdr/swr) with lyricist dagmara kraus, and recently, with his colleague florian meyer, a sound-installation which makes noises talk.
marc matter currently lives in brussels.
