poetry as potential creation: pushing the limits between the impossible and its turning into words, pictures, sounds. everything is possible when entering unchartered waters. and with sfd-teacher emil siemeister it was and is always about things unexplored, unsaid, unheard.

emil siemeister

visual artist, body artist, graphic designer, once held the "class in the dark" at sfd

born 1954 in deutsch-kaltenbrunn (burgenland).
studied at the university of applied arts vienna, graphic design institute. works in the visual arts, graphic design, video, film and activity-based art ("body performances"). numerous individual exhibitions. publication of manifestos and "booklets" consisting of drawings and texts. teaches, amongst others, at the berlin university of the arts and the academy of visual arts leipzig - at vienna poetry school: the "class in the dark" camera obscura, vienna 1997; class materialization exercises - the big pendulum-songs, vienna 1998.
