thomas meinecke:
in class, we write literary palimpsests – overwritings of other texts that you have picked up somewhere. according to gérard genette, the palimpsests should have a manifest relationship to other texts because they are explicitly based on them. the relationship of your palimpsests to the overwritten texts can be open or secret, not revealing the reference.
