poésie sonore (unplugged!)
experimental body sound and everyday noise class with electronic & improv musician christof kurzmann (vienna)
the human body as a sounding instrument – with this expanded concept of poetry and music, the french sound pioneer henri chopin revolutionised not only musique concrète but also the audio-poem genre from the late 1960s onwards. chopin miked the body inside and out and edited his sound material using studio techniques that were possible at the time. in the class of the internationally renowned avant-garde electronic & improv musician christof kurzmann, chopin's poésie sonore is returned to its source material to form – literally – an orchestral body of body parts and everyday objects.
