university of art and design linz/visual communiation in association with vienna poetry school
source of inspiration: bus shelters!
call/invitation:
the vienna poetry school as "postillon d'amour": the university of art and design in linz (institute for media / graphic design & photography, class tina frank) cordially invited us, with our students and supporters, to a joint book project.
project description:
in the summer term of 2015, the study programme visual communication at the university of art and design linz has started a book project that looks into the presentation and interpretation of the - by now world-famous - bus shelters in krumbach (vorarlberg).
the book should show the bus shelters on three levels:
- photography
- graphic design/illustration
- language/words
the vienna poetry school now calls for submissions regarding the third level (language/words). each of the three levels does not necessarily try to show or describe each shelter, but it rather approaches the conceptual centre of the shelter, its materiality or its surroundings. therefore, the photos and grafics are rather interpretative and loose. of course, we hope that the submitted texts will also find a similar approach to the shelters.

a few words from us:
each text production should be allowed - from poems to "shortest"-stories and mini essays to micro-dramas in which bus shelters are blown up (just as an example).
only "limitation": the text should fit onto a book page, so appr. 1,800 characters.
we are looking forward to and await your submissions (in german or english) to sfd@sfd.at (subject: "wartehäuschen"), deadline: 30 november 2015.
the texts most suitable for the book project will be selected by a jury, consisting of professors at the university of art and design linz, architects who are part of the work process and the vienna poetry school. thank you for your attention...
