starting in 2013 and for a couple of years, numerous writers & poets & other artists read, sang and performed their texts and songs from the vienna poetry school's balcony onto mariahilfer strasse. 2019 will see a revival of the "ivory tower" with writer lydia haider who will unleash - in german - the fury of her book “wahrlich fuck you du sau, bist du komplett zugeschissen in deinem leib drin” (rde 2018).
