truthful fictions
– writing as a search for still possible certainties
class with writer carmen stephan (geneva)
"the truth connects everything", writes the bavarian author carmen stephan who lives in switzerland. and also: "towards the simple. which does not mean it is ordinary or poor, but essential".
to get as close as possible to the truth and the essence are central tasks of her writing, as applied in an inimitable way in her critically acclaimed novels "mal aria" and "it's all true". this striving for essential writing will also be the task of the class.
