I just thought of an alternative last line - not meant as a correction of the original, just as a version inspired by your lines: The use-by date now long passed That's why Phoenix meat's made to last So old, after all Twas on sale in the Mall on the outskirts of Irkutsk Oblast (Don't know why that came into my mind.)
It's the wishbone that's important. So you can fly off on it ;)
