The Pelican

This limerick came to mind - one from my youth. The next I will try in German.

What a wonderful bird is the pelican.
Its beak can hold more than its belly can.
It can hold in its beak enough grub for a week,
and I'll be damned how in the hell it can.

Ogden Nash, right? He wrote my favorite animal poem in the world. I don't mind eels / except as meals / and the way they feels". Feel free to write an original poem in English, if that's more convenient for you.
