biography:
born in 1949. writer, artist. she has received many awards for her work including fellowship from the lannan foundation and the bunting institute. her novel “the jade cabinet” was nominated for a national book critics’ circle award. her drawings and prints have been exhibited throughout the world. she has been living in algeria, the loire valley in france, canada and now lives in denver, colorado, where she teaches creative writing at the university of denver.
