sappho (617-60)
poet, teacher and rebel, author of oral, written and ritual performance poetry, founded a poetry school in mitilini on the greek island of lesbos where she taught her female students how to speak, sing, write, dance and prepare for marriage.
allen ginsberg (1926-1997)
key figure of the beat poets, author of “howl” (1956) and “kaddish” (1961), supported the founding of the vienna poetry school (sfd) and taught his only european class at sfd in september 1993: “mind writing slogans”.
