4. eacwp flash fiction contest - the winner is...
sandra henriques aus barreiro (portugal) mit ihrem text "the caretaker" ("a encarregada"). in der endrunde standen 13 texte in verschiedenen europäischen sprachen.
die gewinnerin des 4. eacwp (european association of creative writing programmes) flash fiction (kürzestprosa) wettbewerbs steht fest:

every morning, albertina opens the gate, even if no visitors come. she sweeps the trails between the lots, gathers fallen leaves in a pile next to the shed and opens cans of tuna for the neighborhood cats.
then, she sits on the little plastic stool in the admission booth, with her celebrity gossip magazine. just for the sake of conversation, not to read.
every morning, they come, curious, lurking over her shoulder by the window and whispering to her: “what’s out there?”
“nothing,” albertina replies, annoyed, without lifting her eyes from the magazine. and one by one, resigned, they return to their graves.
die punkte wurden nach dem system des eurovision songcontests vergeben, nächstgereiht sind:
2. platz: "army of trees" von signe kierkegaard cain (den)
3. platz: "akureyri", von sofie gisslén (swe)
4. platz: "bicycle" von geert simonis (bel) und "grandpa" von jilly naaijen (ned) (gewinnerin der online-abstimmung).
5. platz: "medusa" von asaf dvori (isr)
wir gratulieren der gewinnerin und den finalistInnen ganz herzlich!
dieses jahr wurden zwischen 26. februar und 30. april insgesamt 2.000 texte für den wettbewerb eingreicht, der heuer zum 4. mal statt fand. die jury für die endauswahl (zusätzlich zum öffentlichen online-voting) bestand aus vertreterInnen der teilnehmenden 13 eacwp-institutionen. seitens der sfd war wieder poet peter waugh (gbr/aut) mitglied der jury.
der beste deutschsprachige text war "jeden tag" von barbara kobalt (wien, aut).
