allen ginsberg, born 3 june 1926 in newark, new jersey, died on 5 april 1997 in new york city. poet, philosopher, writer, activist. founding father and key figure of the beat movement. author of howl, kaddish, planet news, the fall of america, mind breaths and others.

allen ginsberg war für christian ide hintze und die gründung der schule für dichtung 1991/92 von großer bedeutung und unterstützte die sfd zeitlebens. 1993 unterrichtete ginsberg an der sfd wien und wirkte an zahlreichen veranstaltungen mit (>> aus dem programmheft 1993).
eines der vorbilder der schule für dichtung war die von allen ginsberg und anne waldman gegründete jack kerouac school of disembodied poetics in boulder (colorado/usa), die ide hintze und christian loidl im sommer 1990 besuchten (>> die jack kerouac school of disembodied poetics/loidl, hintze, gindl).
